Malcolm sees angels. He also believes in territorial mabs and seductive forest sylphs. Malcolm believes in lots of things. When he is visited by a young girl named Betty determined to know more about his unusual conspiracies, Malcolm is immediately suspicious. But as the pair delve further into his fantastical world, they realise they have far more in common than either of them first believed. A dark comic drama about grief, loneliness, faith – and the supernatural.
Ben Newman is a theatre director who has lived and worked in the North for most of his life (Merseyside and Sheffield) but is now based in London. A founding member and Artistic Director of the independent company, Belly Up Theatre, his directing credits include, among others: Recipe for a Baby (new writing), Punk Rock, Love and Information, The Pillowman, and a UK tour of Love’s Labour’s Lost (in an assistant role).
This play contains occasional strong language, mild sexual references, and strong themes of death, suicide and drug use.
