Hate crimes against Asian people have surged in the UK during the pandemic. Whilst we continue to educate ourselves about this specific aspect of racism and about Asian history and experience, we can begin by acknowledging this specific racism and how it affects members of our community. As we continue to examine systemic racism, we commit to looking specifically at it through the lens of the experiences of our students and staff of Asian descent and develop resources to support them.

There must be no place for racism in our society. We stand with our Asian students, staff and community.

We are in regular contact with our community. We continue to encourage anyone with concerns or issues to get in touch through the direct channels outlined to staff and students, and we are working on an action plan moving forward.
