We are excited to announce Mountview’s Spring Season of productions, showcasing the talents of our BA (Hons) Performance – Acting, Actor Musicianship and Musical Theatre students, with the support of our Production Arts students.
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
22-25 January | The Mack
“If you start to spell a word, you may start over…”
“F-A-B-A-C-E-A-E. Fabaceae: the longest word that can be played on a musical instrument…”
This comedy musical performed by our Actor Musicianship cohort is set in the high-stakes environment of an American spelling bee competition. Join this eccentric group of young spellers who reveal their hopes, fears, struggles and passions as they try to follow their dream of becoming the winner of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
This hilarious, heartfelt and unpredictable Tony-Awarded show features music and lyrics by William Finn, with a book written by Rachel Sheinkin, conceived by Rebecca Feldman with additional material by Jay Reiss.

Sweet Charity

Regardless of always handing over her heart to the wrong man, New York dancer Charity is still full of hope, refusing to give up on her dreams of finding a lover who can sweep her off her feet. But in a male-dominated world like hers, will she ever achieve her happily ever after?
Our Musical Theatre students boldly bring this beloved Broadway classic to new life through drag, grotesquery and wild abandon – including the iconic songs ‘Big Spender’, ‘If My Friends Could See Me Now’ and ‘The Rhythm of Life’.

Spring Awakening

Spring Awakening is a beautiful and poignant coming-of-age story that delves into the complexities of adolescent emotions as we encounter new feelings, relationships, attractions and insecurities. A tortured swirl of passion and rebellion, where young souls strain against societal constraints and move beyond childhood…
Performed by our Musical Theatre students to the celebrated Tony Award-winning rock score, this intimate studio production features music by Duncan Sheik and a book and lyrics by Steven Sater.

A Streetcar Named Desire
18-26 March | The Mack
“I don’t want realism. I want magic!”
This profound, passionate, illuminating and heartrending play explores the memories, dreams and hopes of a deeply troubled woman who arrives at her sister’s apartment in New Orleans, and unknowingly steps into the lion’s den of a new community.
A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams is held up as one of the greatest plays of the twentieth century – and seeing our Acting cohort seize hold of this extraordinary text promises to be a thrilling and unforgettable experience.
