On Stage and Screen

It was announced that Mina Anwar will reprise the titular role in Willy Russell’s Shirley Valentine following her critically acclaimed performance in the Bolton Octagon Theatre’s 2020 production.

Don Gilet was cast as the new lead detective in Death in Paradise.

Following her time at Crossroads Live, Anna Hulm took up a new position at Short Street Productions/Mark Rubinstein, working as Production Coordinator on Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.

Jonny Grogan started filming for BBC’s Hope Street.

Matthew Seadon-Young, David Seadon-Young and Jack Gardner were all cast in The Baker’s Wife at Menier Chocolate Factory, with fellow alum Dustin Conrad confirmed as Musical Director.

Meanwhile, Nabilah Hamid made her West End debut in Tom Lehrer is Teaching Math and Doesn’t Want to Talk to You at Upstairs at the Gatehouse.

Emily Rennie’s That’s a Bit of Sheer Luck! – A Sherlock Holmes Parody played at the Old Red Lion Theatre.

Alum Andrea Gatchalian performed in the RSC world premiere of Kyoto.

Mountview’s Nathania Ong was cast as Eliza Hamilton in Hamilton, joining fellow alum Simbi Akande in the role of Peggy.

It was announced that Maybe I should stop?, written and performed by Oscar Brudenall-Jones, will play at the Camden Fringe in August.

Lucy Buncombe, Cristina Jerney and Carys Wynn have been preparing for The Real Improvised Housewives of Clapham, playing at The Bread & Roses Theatre.

Theo Ogundipe was named in the cast of My Father’s Fable at Bush Theatre.

Meanwhile, Jordan Louis-Fernand joined the cast of Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.

Killing Boris Johnson, with Mountview alum Shadrach Agozino, was released on Short of the Week.

It was announced that Charles Quittner‘s Brooklyn Rep’s phttps://www.shortoftheweek.com/2024/05/21/killing-boris-johnson/ride play, Too Much Pills and Liquor, will play at The Divine in June and July.

Alexandra Ricou starred in new play Gluck’s Flowers, which toured three art galleries across South West England.

Producer Roxane Bourges and Lighting Designer Ruth Harvey have been preparing for RACHEL at The Hope Theatre.

Nikhil Singh Rai appeared as The Boy in feature film The Collaborator.

It was confirmed that Yali Topol Margalith will play Lauren Gibson in BBC’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder.

Tom Durant Pritchard featured in several episodes of Baby Reindeer on Netflix.

Mountview’s Luke Bayer and Lauren Drew were named in the cast of IN PIECES LIVE at Crazy Coqs.

Designer Justin Williams, Musical Supervisor Katy Richardson and cast member Dean John-Wilson have been preparing for Your Lie in April at the Harold Pinter Theatre.

Oliver!

Oscar Conlon-Morrey, Jamie Birkett and Josh Patel-Foster were all cast in the revival of Oliver! at Chichester Festival Theatre (and subsequent West End transfer) in the roles of Mr Bumble, Mrs Sowerberry/Mrs Bedwin and Ensemble/Swing respectively.

Also at the Chichester Festival Theatre, Louisa Binder and Jewelle Hutchinson opened in Coram Boy.

 


 

Awards and Nominations

Graduating student Jessica Oppong was named as one of the finalists for the prestigious Spotlight Prize 2024.

Josh Rosewood made the finals of the Stephen Sondheim Young Performer of the Year competition.
