On Stage and Screen

BEAUTIFUL: The Carole King Musical

A brand new production of BEAUTIFUL: The Carole King Musical at Pitlochry Festival Theatre features alumni Signe Larsson, Charlotte Grayson, Myles Miller, and Elizabeth Rowe in the cast.

Director Michael Longhurst takes on Between Riverside and Crazy at Hampstead Theatre in May and June.

Passing Strange at Young Vic boasts Mountview graduate, Giles Terera as its Narrator.

Alum Maryann Wright was the subject of a recent article in Australia’s The Sunday Telegraph chatting about their experience as an Australian Producer in the UK.

Emily Rennie could recently be seen as the Producer of two productions, My Name is Gef at The Golden Goose Theatre and Cassette ’93 at OSO Arts Centre.

BBC iPlayer will soon be home to two television series featuring alum Lauren Akosia, who has been cast in new series Mr Loverman, based on the acclaimed novel by Bernardine Evaristo, and will also be Jenny in the third season of Whitstable Pearl.

At Hammersmith’s Riverside Studios Sha Dessi performed in SEAL BOY.

Also in April, graduate Ruth Harvey started as Lighting Programmer at Glyndebourne for their Opera Festival.

Lauren Dickson has finished their term as Resident Director of West End’s Cabaret and joining Boys From The Blackstuff as their Associate Director, along with fellow alum, Ian Scott as the production’s Lighting Designer.

Your Lie in April – The Musical in Concert

The European premiere of Your Lie in April – The Musical in Concert had its first performance in April at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, with Dean John-Wilson in the cast, Katy Richardson as Musical Supervisor, Justin Williams working on Designs, and Stephen McGill representing the producing team of Carter Dixon McGill Productions.

Meanwhile, Daniel Looseley was the Musical Director and worked on the arrangements for What (is) a Woman, a new solo musical, which played at the Arcola Theatre.

As a part of Carter Dixon McGill Productions, Stephen McGill Co-Produced the recent concert of Pippin at London Palladium.

Twelfth Night

Rapahel Bushay is appearing as Orsino in Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s Twelfth Night.

Mountview Alum, Liam Gerrard was nominated for an Audie Award for the audiobook, The Adventures of Finn MacCool & Other Irish Folk Tales, it was shortlisted for the Best Short Story/Collection.

It was revealed that Ro West will be the Assistant Stage Manager for Wedding Band: A Love Hate Story in Black and White at the Lyric Hammersmith.

Meanwhile, Julia Fankhauser and Thibaud Lécluse were in RENT at Phoenix Arts Club at the end of April.

It was confirmed that the initial cast of Fangirls at the Lyric Hammersmith includes Gracie McGonigal and Lena Pattie Jones.

The UK Tour of An Officer and a Gentleman The Musical have cast Danny Whelan and Mia Harrison, they will join fellow alums George Dyer as Musical Supervisor and Orchestrator and Jonathan Scouse as Technical Swing.

SmithWright Production’s Disney Unplugged at The Pheasantry will feature Mountview graduate, Thibaud Lécluse in July.

Lilli Lehmann is Line Producing Love Steps which first played at the Omnibus Theatre and will be seen at Talawa’s Studio Theatre at the end of May.

Spring Awakening: 15th Anniversary Concert

It was revealed that Gemma O’Duffy and Jack Wolfe will be in Spring Awakening: 15th Anniversary Concert at the Victoria Palace Theatre.

Tom Xander was seen as Mustardseed in RSC’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, and will star as Damian Hubbard in Mean Girls on the West End.

Patrick Munday will be joining Witness for the Prosecution as Clerk of the Court, with fellow alum Antony Jardine as Warder.

Episode 7 of Netflix’s 3 Body Problem features Mountview graduate Jim Howick.


Awards and Nominations

The 2024 Olivier Awards

The 2024 Olivier Awards saw two wins for Mountview graduates, Amy Trigg took home the Olivier for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical for her role in The Little Big Things, and Will Close received the Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Dear England. Congratulations to all Mountview alumni nominated, and for those working on productions which were featured!
