This Autumn we are thrilled to announce five productions, showcasing the work and talents of our third year BA (Hons) Performance Acting, Actor Musicianship and Musical Theatre students.
The Three Lives of Lucie Cabrol
15 – 18 Oct
Actor Musicianship
Born an outcast into a French peasant family in 1900 and shunned by those she loves, Lucie Cabrol seeks more than just the basics of human existence. Based on the short story by John Berger and originally performed by Complicite, The Three Lives of Lucie Cabrol is an uplifting exploration into the survival of hope and love in the face of struggle.
Les Misérables
1 – 6 Nov
Musical Theatre
An epic tale of broken dreams, passion and redemption set against a nation in the throes of revolution, Les Misérables is a musical phenomenon. Seen by over 70 million people, it is the world’s longest running musical and features one of the most memorable scores of all time, including the songs ‘I Dreamed a Dream’, ‘On My Own’, ‘Do You Hear The People Sing’, and many more.
Mountview would like to thank Sir Cameron Mackintosh for giving Mountview special permission for the first full length student production of this iconic musical.
The Oresteia
18 – 20 Nov
Acting
Following the fall of Troy, Agamemnon returns home a triumphant hero – but all is not what he expects in Mycenae. A vibrant new performing version of the iconic Greek revenge tragedy, The Oresteia is an explosive and moving examination of family relationships and the tenuous bonds between husbands, wives, mothers and sons.
King Lear
2 – 4 Dec

In this bold new reimagining of the classic Shakespeare play, a king divides his kingdom between three daughters and sets into motion a twisting tale of treachery, deceit and intrigue. Wildly theatrical, strange and surprising, this King Lear is unlike any that have come before.
