Clare has been painting since graduating from The University of Chester in 1997. She started with The Cheshire Youth Theatre and then went on to train further at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, specialising in scenic art.
Clare has worked all over the country for numerous set building companies and theatres, including The Belgrade Theatre as Deputy Head and Royal & Derngate Theatres as the Head of Scenic Art, for six years in total (before and after the redevelopment). Clare has painted for Souvenir Scenic Studios, SetUp Scenery, Royal Shakespeare Company, English National Opera, Visual Scene, English Touring Theatre, and Cardiff Theatrical Services to name a few, painting scenery, props and back cloths using many disciplines, materials and techniques to achieve and realise the designs on stage.
